Learn to use Student Response Systems with three easy steps

Students Response System; commonly known as ‘Clickers’ are those wondrous hand held devices which are getting widely used in classrooms of today. Clickers have so intelligently adapted themselves into the education system of today that one can’t imagine teaching without them.

Moreover, this ‘New Era’ gadget is superbly contrived to carry out an effective two-way communication between teacher and students inside a classrooms and lecture halls. Lets me tell you how it works?

First step
Teacher asks a question with the help of her handset and the question gets projected on the large screen or interactive whiteboard.

Second Step

Students feed-in their respective answers in the form of true/false, yes/no, multiple choices, numeric and text which get stored into the attached computer.

Final Step
Teacher can display all the feedbacks and answers on the large screen in the form of table, graph and pie chart for students to see. Teachers can also discuss on individual or group performance regarding the poll or test she conducted. As a result; these useful student response systems helps in eradicating misconceptions, communication gaps and misunderstandings from the minds of students and motivated them to carry out open-ended discussions, polls and evaluations with utmost confidence.
Educators of today; prefer using Genee’s easy-to-use student response systems including Genee pad, pebble pad and iQ-pad; to teach their students. They believe that these unique clickers help students to understand key lessons and concept very easily and quickly.

Genee’s student response systems are extremely interoperable, flexible and can be used excellently with ClassComm software. Moreover; teachers can save a lot of time by using Genee’s response systems as compared to cumbersome and time consuming paper evaluation, result tallying and answer checking method.

ICT-Revolution

ICT (Information and Communication technology) has brought revolution in the education field. In past days educators using the traditional blackboards with chalk for writing and displaying notice with noticeboards are becoming outdated. Educators are deploying ICT to improve the quality of the instructions. There has also been growing trend across the globe in the use of ICT to enhance whole class teaching and learning. There is considerable research evidence that students are more engaged, show increased interest and are highly motivated when their learning is integrated by ICT. Teaching with ICT technology has become essential thing for an educator in the technological age. A lot of difficult subject matter can be taught better and in more detail with ICT teaching aids. ICT incorporate audio-visual techniques that results in increasing the interest and memory of students. An educator must utilize the ICT successfully to create the best platform for learning and teaching. Every school, college and university across globe is implementing ICT into their classroom. ICT opens up a world of opportunities for teachers to be innovative in their teaching and in student learning. It is very important that educators should be well trained to utilize the new opportunities provided by ICT to them. Some of ICT teaching aids are Interactive Whiteboards, digital Visualisers, response systems, digital signage system, projectors, educational content, classroom management software, and mind mapping software.

Today, the learning system is getting high gains by implementing ICT. Interactive Whiteboards have become an integral part of learning environment and is replacing traditional whiteboards. An educator writes with finger or pen on interactive whiteboard. Teachers are using ICT based educational content with audio and video into their lessons. An audio visual content gives the learners a better learning environment as they can visually watch the actual phenomena and processes. Teachers can write on their content with Interactive Whiteboards and save it in computer files that can’t be done through traditional boards. Visualiser is a kind of camera that can display document , 2D or 3D teaching samples on display devices like projection screen, plasma screens etc providing detailed view.Even the calm and isolated student can respond spontaneously to teacher question using ICT based student response systems. Teacher can do formative and summative assessment of student. Projector is a popular ICT device used in the schools, colleges and the universities for projecting the information stored in computer as a large image on projection screen or on the wall such as multimedia, power point files, animation, motion video and other computer contents.
